Leslie and Clay were one of my first couples hit by the Covid shuffle. With our original plan of the Santa Barbara Zoo off the table, these made the thrice pivot replan to their extended family’s Newport Beach backyard a breeze. We kept our original ‘fruit punch’ flower color story with a little more of a garden vibe vs a hint of tropical to hang at the zoo. A personal favorite and it was the absolute perfect time in the summer for the coral charm peonies. The Newport House had an insane new, but also had the trick of the mountain side wind. The joy of a pivot and partying at home is that sometimes you have to think on your feet when things don’t quite work. Like our original vases LOL. Thankfully, we had enough time to do a little switch for cereal bowls which now are one of my favorite vessels for centerpieces. One silver lining of 2020-2022 were the lean in to elopements and those smiles made all the replanning so so easy. Having David capture them so perfectly (those boats shots!) was a real icing on the cake and such a joy to be apart of the day.
